We had a day off for a holiday yesterday. Here is what we did in one word per student: 5B1 golf, boating, soccer, computer, TV, swimming, puzzles, sleep, golf, Wii, computer, Bat Mitzvah, my birthday, 6 Flags (amusement park).
Hi folks, I've got a question about Labor Day. Are their any special traditions connected with that holiday? How is it celebrated? We've got a similar holiday in Russia. It's celebrated on the 1st of May. Best wishes, Yelena
It is an odd holiday. There seems to be no traditions associated with it aside from having a party and a cookout. It has mostly become a marker for the end of the summer season. I think the idea of it being a "workers' holiday" is not focused on these days. However, yesterday Pres. Obama gave a big speech to the unions.
